    ESTATE FRESH!
Early 1900 Plume & Atwood Mfg Co Catalogue!
Soon after organizing 1869 as a partnership between Israel Holms, John C. Booth, and Lewis J. Atwood, the firm bought the brass mill of the Thomas Manufacturing in Thomaston, Connecticut. They also purchased the Hayden & Griggs Manufacturing Company in Waterbury, Connecticut. A legal Battle developed when Hiram W. Hayden contended that the new company's name of Holmes, Booth, and Atwood, whose principle members had defected from Hayden's company, was too close to his partnership of HB&H. Hayden prevailed in his suit forcing the company's name change to Plume and Atwood in 1871. "Plume" was David Scott Plume, the company's treasurer. Incorporating in 1880, the Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Co. produced a full line of lamps and lamp trimmings. Their lamp brands included Royal, Plumwood and Naugatuck and their trimmings (parts) included Banner, Duplex, Moehring and Harvard burners as well as the Hornet, Nutmeg, and Acorn burners found on miniature or night lamps.
This fantastic approximate 6¾" x 9½" 78 page "No. 9, B" catalogue details the Plume & Atwood products in detail. "G. H. Schlough" is noted in pencil at the top of the catalogue.
    It
is generally in very good condition. The binding tape is loose at the rear with the rear cover and its pre-page being separated from the catalogue.
