Powerball ticket worth $50K sold at N.J. supermarket

A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold for Saturday’s lottery drawing at a supermarket in Bergen County.
The lucky, third-prize ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball and was purchased at Stew Leonard’s in Paramus, lottery officials said. It was the only $50,000 ticket bought in the state.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: winning numbers were: 12, 13, 34, 44 and 67. The Powerball drawn was 8, with a Power Play of 3X.
No one across the country hit Saturday’s $172 million drawing, pushing the top prize for Monday’s drawing to $184 million with a cash option of $85.1 million.
A second-prize, $1 million ticket was sold in Florida. It matched five numbers but not the Powerball.
In addition, no one nationally on Saturday won the secondary $10 million Double Play jackpot. Those winning numbers were: 36, 40, 41, 50 and 60. The Double Play number drawn was 13.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth $489 million with a cash option of $225.3 million.
